Using both traditional and contemporary dance genres, members of HIV charity Red Ribbon perform a piece about positive opportunities in life that are possible for people living with HIV and their families.
Created with a playwright and counsellor from Shades of Black, the performance uses movement, sound and dance to tell a story. The story will be performed by members of Red Ribbon who are men and women aged 50+ of African heritage.
Red Ribbon Living Well is a community-led voluntary organisation supporting individuals affected and infected with HIV. Red Ribbon's main philosophy is to nurture the feeling of well-being among members through social activities and support. The organisation works to empower some of the most vulnerable individuals, who often feel they have no active part to play in the community.
Shades of Black is a theatre company that uses theatre based activities as a means of personal development, increasing self-confidence and exploring issues affecting groups of people.
