Seven movements and 13 individual wind instruments, including two Basse Horns, a kind of Alto Clarinet, four Horns and a Contra Bassoon.
This was no ‘occasional’ piece; it contains some of Mozart’s most beautiful and inventive music, written for an event at which Mozart was eager to show his paces.
